The style of your sign depends on the
message you need to communicate on the sign itself, and
also the message you want to communicate about your
company. There are many ways to convey the same message,
and here we will demonstrate some of them: |
In the first example the restaurant
name is emphasized with larger letters and a bold
typestyle. |
Adding a border increases reading
speed. A border is always a good idea where the intended
audience will be in cars. |
Here we add more emphasis to the
basic "Eat at Joe's" sign. A second colour increases
retention. The black outline improves colour contrast
and thereby increases the legibility of the whole sign. |
Special effects increase the
noticeability of the sign by giving it greater impact. |
Now we add some digital graphics to
the sign. A simple graphic communicates more information
in less time than it takes to read text. |
Digital colour graphics communicate
even more information, and can activate other senses,
and stimulate impulse purchases. |
Finally we combine all of the
elements into a unique sign style. A unique design makes
the sign more noticeable and attracts the attention of
more viewers. |
